Introduction

Welcome to Cross-Cultural Studies of Kyung Hee University

Our Center was launched in 1993 with the vision of going beyond academic barriers of Humanities and Social Science and crossing the boundaries of nation-states towards globalized interdisciplinary studies. We have hosted various international and domestic academic events and conferences through exchanges and communication with scholars and specialists of language and culture. We also have published four issues of “Cross-Cultural Studies” a year, an academic journal listed in KCI of NRF as well as a series of books, thereby establishing the concept of comparative culture among Korean researchers and academicians, and leading research on culture and transnationalism.

On the strength of the achievements built during the past 25 years, the Center for Cross-Cultural Studies attempts to develop humanities research models based on reality and envision building new communities with the goal of exploring alternative life values in cultural diversity and seeking sustainable communities of happiness.

While continuously pursuing quest for learning, we at the Center wish to go beyond the world of academia, communicate with the real world and foster open discussions. I hereby welcome you to the Center for Cross-Cultural Studies of Kyung Hee University.
