[Invited Lecture] The Nonhuman in Literature Through the Prism of Perception-Practice-Ethics

We would like to inform about the upcoming invited lecture titled "The Nonhuman in Literature Through the Prism of Perception-Practice-Ethics".

In this seminar, we are honored to have Young-Im Kim join us to provide an overview of how Korean literature has responded to the "Nonhuman Turn" in the academic fields of the 21st century. The discussion will focus on literature that addresses nonhuman animals, critically recognizing the limits of traditional relationships, and exploring new ethical imaginings. We will also engage in a conversation about the direction of "care" within these contexts.

      • Presentation: Young-Im Kim (Kyung Hee University)
      • Discussion: Chul-Joo Lee (Kyung Hee University)
      • Date: August 8, 2024(Thursday), 3:00 PM
